It requires a PSu with 450watts and 24 amps on the 12v, is this combined or on each? also, will an ATX12v 2.2 work on any atx mobo?

It is total, and someone correct me if im wrong, but the 24 amps is the whole system right, not just the 9800GT, im pretty sure thats right?

Yeah, thats just what they recommend for the average system as a whole. A 9800GT gets 75W from the slot, think a PCIe 2.0 slot might be 100W and another 75W from the 6 pin PCIe connector so 150W/175W is the most it can pull anyway. Never saw a test to see how many amps it can pull just by itself, but I'm sure its nowhere near 24 amps.

I would get a good quality one between 500/600W with atleast 30/35 amps on the 12V rail. Give you some upgrade room.

Si, there are many decent PSU's on the market for a price. Last time I checked, I had a 39A dual rail 585W PSU for under $30. hec Orion 585W. It held up to overclocking and a HD3850 nicely.

If your going to spend the cash BUY MORE THEN YOU NEED!!!!

Last I checked newegg had a sale on the TX750 from Corsair and it was like $80 shipped.

That can power any GPU on the market currently which leaves a LOT of room for upgrades. I mean its only $15 more then the 650w for that price ^-^
