psu for sli application

yo i need to know what would be a decent psu capable of running 2 asus gtx 560ti's in sli, so obviously ill need 4 pci-e rails

i also use a phenom 2 955be at standard clock speed (yeh i know its a be and for overclocking but whatever) cooled by a corsair h60

please advise! i dont really wanna spend more than £75 if at all possible

well what cpu would you suggest then? and by how much would it be holding back, im determined to sli the cards as i have 2 of them and an sli ready board, it would be stupid for me to get rid of it all
 
Listen, you only have to use 1 card on a sli mobo. I am so happy I didn't get the 460 sli setup, it has something called micro stutter which annoys the cheese out of a lot people. Like this: Play for 5 secs, Stop for 5 ms, play for 5 secs, stop for 5 ms. If you don't think it sounds annoying, it will be. Plus, you would need a whole other Motherboard to get a CPU that would handle well 560ti sli, so, it doesn't even matter that you have a sli ready board. Get a gtx 670, same price as 560ti sli, and you probably won't need a new psu, what is your psu?

its not that i have an sli ready board, i also have 2 asus 560ti's sat on my desk gathering dust lol. i dont understand if sli makes everything stutter so bad then why have it? if its so shit then whats the point
 
Makes nothing stutter unless your system is not set up right. As told in the other post, and especially now if you're considering a SLI board, you need to get an intel P67 SLI board and i52500k with 8GB DDR ram. You then need a 550W Corsair or better.

3 way sli pretty much doesn't have micro stutter. But 2 way sli normally will, no matter how you set it up.

You need to understand that the problems that people claim to have with SLI and CF are way overstated. Not saying they dont have problems, but way less then you think. So just to say you (will have) micro shutter is false. The above statement makes no sense anyway.
 
yeah, ive used sli for a while in a few different rigs, and ive never experienced micro stutter from it. always smooth as butter. to the op. if you can get a phenom quad core amd chip in there, and clock it at least to 3.6Ghz, then that would help out. i was runing 2 x 470's in sli with a 1090t six core, and it performed great. i still hold the 3rd ranking on the 3d mark 11 score thread. so yeah, if you can swing a phenom quad core then id say your good. just be sure the power suppy is up to snuff
 
i bought a corsair tx850 in the end, u guys said to get the 750 but i like that little bit of headroom just to be safe
 
I've been very pleased with how well SLI has performed with a pair of 460s. I've never noticed any studder or pauses in games and NVIDIA continually rolls out driver updates to support SLI. The SLI setup has also allowed me to go considerably longer before feeling the need to upgrade GPUs. ^^^ Good choice on the 850.

yeh ive got it running sweet as a nut now in sli, but my god do those cards give off some heat! its like a little radiator under my desk
