Psu or mobo.... or VGA?

Ok so i recently built my own comp. I have a

750w corsair psu
nVidia BFG 280
eVga 780i FTW mobo
intel q9550 cpu
and a prelude sound card

So about two weeks into playing it my graphics card started throwing artifacts. So i thought Great a bad gpu... well then things started going wrong... bsods ... then failure to boot. Finally i got tired of it and formated my drives. When i finally got it to work through the constant bsods and failure to boots i started downloading vista patch 1...... then poof! It was like someone flipped the power switch. It shut off and wouldn't turn back on. The blue led light will glow on the mobo to show power but when i go to power it on it goes *pffff* the lights go on then go black and it wont turn on.

I just put in my new psu b/c i rma'd through corsair... so im about 99% sure its not a psu problem.... but what really boggles my mind is that i took it to a local shop and they said that they put in a different psu and it booted up fine.... that is what prompted me to get the psu rma'd.... what the heck is going on?!

well by the time they were checking it the bsod's were the least of the problems.... it won't even kick on let alone bsod. This is what perplexes me... they used a 600w and i use a 750w yet theirs booted it up and mine wont even turn the computer on.

With the info you provided, could be all three. Try using onboard, if it still doesn't work, try using another spare PSU.
