PSU problem?

I have put my old computer in another case which has a 500w PSU, which is a bit old (came with a case).

Specs:

E8400
P5NT-Deluxe
4Gb RAM
1 HDD
1 DVD-RW
9800 GTX

The computer was working fine before, when it was in a case with my NOX 600w sli PSU.

Its posts fine, but it sometimes it stalls trying to get into windows or it works for a bit then whatever program im using stops responding and the screen goes black. I take it the this PSU is not up for the job?

can anyone help? i dont know much about PSU's, i did a watt calculation, which said i needed 390watts.

And your "case PSU" probably outputs closer to 100 watts. Depending on what "case psu" it is, its probably a rubbish chinese piece of crap unit. The only manufacturer who includes even decent units with their cases are pretty much only antec.
