PSU Question?...

I've always wanted this PSU:

OCZ 600W GameXStream Power Supply w/ Quad +12V

But it puts my computer a little over budget so I'm trying to save here and there.

Anyways, theres also this version which I've never heard of before, but it looks nearly the same without the LED light and is supposed to be quieter.

Is there a difference besides the noise and light? If not It's a done deal.

The quad 12v rails are all still 18A so I'm assuming it's the same thing.

Any help appreciated.

they are virtually the same, except for the parts you pointed out. oh and as a tip, the 700W version isnt THAT much more, and every watt counts toward it being future-proof

Aside from the LED, the GameXStream and the StealthXStream are very, very similar units, both based on the same FSP Epsilon platform. The differences basically come down to:

• Fewer connectors on the StealthXStream
• Different +12V regulators
• A quieter fan on the StealthXStream, which also moves less air

Also if it moves less air this means it will run hotter correct?

Depends if you have enough drives to need the extra connectors. You can always use adapters/splitters if necessary, though.

But I've never heard of PSU's overheating so it shouldn't be a problem.

Only thing is I hope it dosen't heat up the rest of the case majorly.
