PSU questions

Do you think this PSU will be alright will the hardware.
Proline PSU 400
With:EVGA P55 Micro 121-LF-E652-KR Motherboard
Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz LGA1156 Processor (with stock cooler)
Club 3D GeForce GTS250 Green Edition 16xPCIE 256-bit 1GB DDR3
Kingston DDR3-1600 2GB
Seagate Barracuda 160GB 7200:9 Hard drive
A DVD RW drive

I won't be overclocking the CPU just yet.
I don't know if this makes a difference but the PSU cable is joined to the monitors cable and the share the same plug.
Also will i have to connect a power connector to the Graphics card.
 
Yes you need a 6 pin PCIe power connector for a GTS 250. Never heard of Proline power supplies. Plus 400W is a little on the small side for a GTS 250. Sounds like a snap crackle pop kinda thing.

No, it will not be good enough because it is a low quality unit so isn't actually 400W, that is the peak power but it will never output that much for any length of time, if anything if you manage to get there, you will be blowing your PSU.

Also no, your PCIe connector is not connected to your CPU power connector. What that is that you have is a 4+4 pin CPU connector. Some motherboards have a 4 pin CPU power socket, some have 8. So they don't narrow their market by having only one or the other, and so they don't have to add an extra wire by putting both in, they put it like that where you can splie it, using only 1 of the 4 pin cables (only 1 will fit) or snap them together so it will fit in and power the 8 pin boards :)

400W is plenty for a GTS250 so long as it is a good quality unit.

Corsair, PC Power&Cooling, Silverstone, Be Quiet!, Antec, BFG, Seasonic, Cooler Master

they are the better choices that you should be using

Probably is, but I havent bought under a 500W in years. No point in buying a smaller one when its a deadend as far as upgrading when you can get a larger quality one for a few bucks more. To me a 400W power supply is a waste of money.

I completely agree with you. I'd always try to get a unit running at ~60-70%. Doesn't put too much strain on it and works most efficiently there, also gives you room for upgrade. Was just saying you don't need a power PSU, 400W will suffice for it
 
If you're looking to future proof and upgrade to more power hungry hardware maybe invest in something around 500w and above.
