psu ????

ok thanks i though it was i heard that ultra was not so good and then i saw one of the good?bad psu and ultra was in the good so just thought i would ask thanks again

One production run of the original X-Connect performed really poorly - enormous failure rates and QC problems. This was some years ago, however, and Ultra don't even use that manufacturer (Youngyear) anymore. Unfortunately, a lot of misinformed people continue to hold that against Ultra. The new units are much better. The XVS 600W represents great value for money.

I agree with Cee

the Ultra has improved lot from the days of the youngear PSU

they are decent for the money; they are still not an equal to Antec trio, Corsair, Enermax Galaxy& infinity; Thermaltake toughpower etc

but they are a decent mid-grade IMHO

what about this one on power supply all i know is the higher the amp on the 12 rail is good???????????
+12V rails have an identical total output - 35A on each unit. Build quality is similar as well, and the X-Finity is actually probably capable of putting out a little more output power than the XVS. That X-Finity is an older unit, and Ultra have set the low price to dispose of the old stock. It's also great value, and offers a couple of aesthetic features such as UV reactive cabling and a mirrored finish, as well as an EPS connector, although lacks the modular interface and is a little louder than the XVS.

At $30 it's really tough to beat. Slightly better value still, IMO, if you don't mind waiting for the rebate.
