What's the best method for entering personal info on a public network? Email, PW, and stuff? Just to be sure someone isn't recording it, or is that unlikely?

if your talking about something like maybe a local university it would be ssl encryption. look for a key in the system tray. double click the key to see if its valid or expired. your site should start with https and not http for secure.

im thinking it was and maybe within the university. this would fall into the category you mentioned. if it was not for business then this would not apply i know of. im curious though and would watch. i can't think of a thing other than what was mentioned like for business. mostly because its on a network. at work it would not apply. though some like administrators have easy access.

interesting though.......maybe someone else has an answer.

In what kinda public network exactly, and how do you connect to it? If you use a secure connection (WPA2 or similar, WEP is easily hackable), you usually have nothing to worry about - usually only things that are recorded are things such as the sites you've been visiting (i.e. not the actual content or the date you've sent them), and even these are accessible only by network admins. If you're connected through an open connection (one that doesn't require a password, that is), you have more to worry about - only send data over secure (encrypted) connection if possible.
