Purchasing a new computer... I need an advice

Hello everyone. I'm new here and I need an advice on buying a new computer.
I love playing games such as Call of Duty, but I have to play with ALL settings on LOW or disabled... The worst thing is that the game is still slow.
Also... I have a LAPTOP!
So I was wondering if someone could give me an advice on buying a new COMPUTER that isn't too expensive, but it could run Call of Duty on high settings with no problem.

$500 (assuming US dollar) is going to get you a fairly good computer for call of duty and other games. It's quite easy to build your own computer, also quite fun! we have a guide here on how to do it:

Do you know any croation websites that sell computer components? what about physical stores? Just helps us as we can get some parts together and see how much it will cost all up.

Well, I was thinking of only buying a computer... Do you know how much Acer Aspire 5535 is worth? Maybe when I sell my laptop, I just add up a little more and I could buy myself a factory computer.

That laptop should be able to handle call of duty fine. It won't be able to cope with, say, grand theft auto 4 which is very intensive.

If' you're just playing call of duty and doing general stuff like internet and word documents it will be perfect for you.

Yeah, but I'm playing that only because I can only play that.
Call of Duty is slow and low quality on this!!!
Give me an advise which computer I should buy.

Let me start over again:
I have a notebook computer/laptop, it's slow.
I want a desktop computer/PC, because it's fast.

Any suggestions of buying a PC that can run games in HIGH RESOLUTION and is not lagging/breaking when I play it?
Price: somewhere around $500
