Putting my graphics card into my computer

Thanks for the pictures.

My case is pretty dusty inside. What is the best way to clean the inside? With a tissue or something. Do you think I should just go for a different graphics card i mean, one with the same quality but better cooled and just pay more money. or maybe get a lower quality one for the same price.

Tissue!?!? You would be in there for hours trying to use a kleenex to clean the dust out. Get a can of compressed air.

Looking at those pictures it seems have two white slots PCI looking ones and red on nearby by itself.

P.S. I will get that can of compressed air!

Intel Pentium 4 processor 506(2.66Ghz)

Model number- SF-AV50612/m16 from Sofmap

CPU Cache memory- 16KB/1024KB

FSB 533Mhz (133Mhz x 4)

Chip set- via p4m800 + via vt8237r

Memory- 512 of ram with a max possiblity of 2GB

ddr dimm sockets x 2

200GB hdd

My GPU (Graphics card) is S3 Unichrome Pro integrated Graphics (onboard) and my new one- GV N66256DP.

I have a sheet with other info on the specs and put up more of my specs later.

Anyway, a friend fitted the graphics card but the not newly bought fan. We couldn't find a place to put it and there wasn't really a hole in the case, well there was a kind of grill. The whole case itself has three fans and there is one located about 8 centermeters above and 8 centermeters to the side of the graphics card. Maybe this is suffcient. Or maybe I could just leave the sides off the case when I switch the computer on.

The game Battlefiend which I bought, works well, although when i reset the computer the screen goes black and I have to press the reset button to get anything on the screen- not sure what that's about.

Also since putting the grapics card in I can't watch movies, big problem, no DVDs or downloaded movies. My friend said I should adjust the settings- which ones?

I also got trojan horse the next day or just after playing Battlefield, I was connected to the internet when I was playing so i guess it was that. I disconnected the Lan cable for my next game.

Keep getting this message-

mean anything to you-

SLI multi card-GPU rendering has been disabled . SLI muti GPU rendering has been changed to independent GPU rendering because one of your SLC cards has been removed.

SLI multi GPU rendering requires two or more graphics cards.

that normal

it just means that you only have one card and not two, which would make it SLI

Took the graphics card to the electronics shop. They told me that because the power or whatever was 6600 I should get a fan instead of replacing it. If I replaced it with 700o or 6200 then it wouldnt be as good for games. Maybe I will keep the graphics card and the fan disconnected when not playing games. Sound ok?

Just use it as it is, it's designed to be fanless, so it should be able to be used fanless. or if you really want, just get a new heatsink/fan assembly for that's compatible with the 6600.

You dont think this over heating graphics card will burn my cpu out do you?

I have bought a fan, i guess even if the graphics card burns out it is no big deal, but if my CPU goes i will be ****ed, right? I guess I can replace that too.

What's the temperature of the graphics card anyways? And no, under normal conditions it shouldn't burn out the cpu. Where did you put the fan you just bought?

There is no where to put the new fan no whole in the computer case I do have three fans in the case overall, i guess that is sufficient. M

I installed the drivers from the CD which came with the graphics card. One of the DVD playing software played my DVD, but very slowly and the other media players didnt work at all. My other DVD player said this-

the player wont work so-

1/ Close all other applications

2/Reduce the display and/or display frequency and try again

3/Reboot the computer and try again.

When I put the new drivers in the computer it said they were older than the previous ones which were known for giving people problems my friend mad a mistake and downloaded the wring ones for it. i installed them anyway.

Where do I go to get the appropriate drivers?
