can i get different recording software for my X600? the stuff that came with it kinda sucks bawls

I assume your X600 has VIVO? Though it probably doesn't have onboard compressors, does it? You really need an onboard MPEG2 compressor or something to get decent PVR captures.

I used SageTV for a while. It's not free, but it's quite good. It is a tad sluggish, but that's because it's always recording what you're playing. I honestly couldn't tell a difference between captured media and the live feed! And, of course, you could play back the video while it continued to record. Hmm... I really should put that back on my computer!

it is vivo with no mpeg2 on board. should get a tv tuner insted. but with every thing going HD will older tv tuners still record from an HD signal?

I'm not quite sure how that would work... But there aren't many good HD tuners out just yet. If you just want a good plain tuner, try a WinTV PVR-150. That's what I have and it's great!

yeah i dont want to buy a tv tuner that wont work in 2 years. i think it will work b/c every one would buy new HD tv's or get a converter box. i havent heard anything about that. guess i should look this stuff up. myth tv would be a better opion.
