Hi,

How can I completely delete a file from my hard disk and make it impossible to restore it with any data-restoring software? I use Window Washer5 but I tried to restore some files which I washed with window washer, using FinalData software I was able to restore them all and few of them worked very well. So I need a software (or softway) to completely entirely absolutely delete a file from my hard disk.

Once again I will suggest my favorite tool. System Mechanic which has a tool called the incinerator which will completely delete a file and you cannot restore with any programs. It's made for spyware removal but I'm sure you can use it to remove programs as I have done in the past.

i think norton has one too in the norton system works, it is the file shredder if i am not mistaken.

Try deleting your files from another operating system if you have dual boot. For example, if you have win98 and win XP, delete all the files that you will never need to restore someday using the win 98, you won't be able to restore them unless you use the restore program under the 98, and vice versa.

True, but programs like the incinerator and file shredder are probably easier to use

I know my friend, but I always like to make most actions the manual way, this is safer and better. I hate exploring and using lots of programs for doing every action, simply because I don't know what these programs are doing behind my back other than what I ordered them to do :D
