Hi guys,
1)can someone explain how to re update my system drivers?? some of my drivers are out of date,,someone suggested external programs such as drivers max or pareto logic driver cure?? are they reliable?? or if i do it myself how should i do it????

2) while u re here guys, can someone instruct me on how I can change the cooling fan temperature (its in percentage, i think..)where i should go to in my pc, what menu etc,, ??
my laptop is acer 5720

thanks all

#1 go to your computers manufacturer and find the latest drivers... thats the best way..

side note, my feeling with drivers is if its not broken, dont fix it.

#2 i need a bit more info, the fact that your computer is giving your cooling fan temp in a % is just weird. what are you using to get your temps?

,,thanks, I might be wrong its in percentage, my prob is that i dont know where i should go to check my temp?? also regarding drivers, once I went to the manufact. site how can I compare with exinsting if it needs fixing or not?? d how i replace with the updated ones a lot !!!!!am soorrry but am not very technologically minded!!! nice eve

about the drivers, if your device in question is working fine then i dont see a need to update the drivers. if you experience issues with it then yeah maybe update it. you can go into device manager (right click my computer --properties. then choose hardware--and then device manager.) you can see if anything has a problem by a yellow !... if you just want to compare driver version with ones on ACERs website then expand the device you want to check and the right click properties and pick the driver tab. it will give you info on your currently installed driver.

to update a drive it typically will have an installer tied to it so you just run the executable and then reboot in most cases.

does acer come with a program to monitor your fans? what is that called.

thsnks fo rur kind time, i ll check 4the name of that program. just a final q. Generally if a driver is out of date, does it mean it needs necessarely fixing and that it is not running properly? thanks a million

no not at all. What I mean by if its not broken dont fix it is say your video card is acting up, movies wont play as well as they used to or your picture looks funny etc.... maybe update the drivers... if everything seems fine with your equipment dont bother with the drivers, its fine.
