Q: Transferring computer programs (w/serial number) to a new computer?

This can be done, correct? I have a few programs that include serial numbers (one time use for most of them), but the computer they are on is old as dirt, therefore I bought a new one. If I uninstall everything or swipe my old HDD (all from my old PC), would I be capable of re-installing my licensed programs without a problem, or will I still get a message saying it's already used/invalid? Thanks in advance.

It depends on the program, but for the most part, no. The most pirated program's companies usually have something called a 'blacklist'. The list contains a lot of the serial numbers that have been used from different IP's. (this is on a scale of like 200-300 uses though). So don't worry about it.

For the most part Serial keys are not done on a one-time one-use basis due to the fact of exactly what you are stating. Think of your software as not purchasing the software but purchasing the license to use a copy of that software. You then come to the realization that these licenses are safe to use repeatedly unless the EULA for that software dictates otherwise. Some specific names of the software would help guarantee that, but in general you should be okay.

Great to mention the blacklisted serials, which is a reason why one should always keep their serials safe.
