Hey guys,

Okay im heading for 3.5Ghz! on my Q6600.

Ive got it to 3.5ghz,with the memory at 874mhz and 6-5-5-15 2T

But i cant get it stable,Im afraid of going higher with the voltages....what do you recommend i do?...i dont know if i have to lower my timings?

these are what i have them at.

Cpu: 1.4125v
Mem:2.3V
Northbridge:1.425v

It always fails on core 3 within a few seconds

Temps seem okay,With coretemp my idle temps are 28,26,24,25...thats after ive adjusted the offsets so that the tj max is correct for my Q6600 at 90c.

But my hardware monitor in the bios still reports a 10c higher temps than coretemp

Try with higher voltage to see if the 3rd core is stable.

Say 1.45V. Q6600 is 64nm so its not too much for it providing you have adequate air cooling.

It'll partially tell you whether its a voltage problem or a core limitation

Hi mate,

1.45 = fail :D....lasts a bit longer,but still on core 3 it fails :D

Any higher you want to go?

1.148 you could try for a short time. Depends if you want to see he reasoning behidn the crashing or not.

Sounds like you'll need better cooling to go any higher.

i dont realy want to up the voltage anymore than 1.45...its just not healthy :D

It could actualy be my motherboard or something, afterall it is a budget mobo so its not realy intended for great overclocking.
i was suprised i got it to 3.3ghz.
