Q6600 @ 4Ghz, overclocking gold!

need to make sure you have the right Q6600 though, the product code number of it will tell you on the side of the box......

ok i didn't go into in detail... i've yet to even muster up the courage to oc my 5600+ lol... i'll get there tho just don't want to f*** my computer at less than a month old

you can overclock the old model to 4.0, so long as your memory can get to 500

the reviewers who did the swiftec p180 with the built in watercooling got their q6600 to 4.0 stable, and that was when the q first came out, back in january or february.

The last five characters of the "PROD CODE" is called the batch stepping. It basically tells you when the core was made, say week 29, and a couple other things. This is what overclockers look for. Next time you're out looking for a chip make sure to google your chip + batch stepping to find the best one, then go shopping!
