Q6600 limit on stock V

Im trying to oc my q6600. I changed the fsb to 1280 (max) anything higher than that will freeze on start up screen. Running at 1280 gives me 2.88GHz. What should i do next to reach higher GHz?

raise your voltage, then raise the FSB some more

Agreed. Might back down on the FSB a bit if you've already hit there... Raise it little by little...(FSB... voltage only needs to be turned up when it's really needed.)

It seems very suspicious that you could only get a 288MHz OC on stock voltage... I would have expected quite alot more.

As the other posters have said, you need to raise the voltage. You also should consider setting a different memory divider.
