q6600 overclocking questions

Right now my q6600 is overclocked to 3.2ghz and it is stable. I ran three different tests, Intel Burn Test, OCCT, and Prime95, and no errors came up. I have been having a problem with the nvlddmkm error while gaming and it is a lot worse when I am overclocked. I am not sure if the overclock is even causing the problem.

I was looking through the bios and wondered if should mess with the CIA2 and Performance Enhance settings.

nvlddmkm is a video card issue. software or hardware. update your drivers to the latest, and test if a different card stops the problem. (bluescreen?)

check in your bios that the PCI-E slot is not overclocked. (default is 100mhz)

Everybody keeps telling me it is a video card problem. I am not so convinced. I have updated to the latest driver. I do not get a blue screen, instead the game will freeze for a split second, then a message comes up asking me to close the program. Now sometimes it will display a message in the taskbar that says the display driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Other times, it just shows up in the event viewer. I do not have to restart.

When I am at stock settings, the problem is almost non existent, keyword there is almost. But when I am overclocked to 3.2ghz, I receive the error within minutes of gaming, sometimes can't even get past the game menu.

I have tried different drivers and nothing has made a difference. I have reinstalled using the driver cleaner method.

I am almost positive that it is not the card itself. I had the card RMA'd through EVGA and didn't help. EVGA even said there was nothing wrong with my original card.

I usually leave that PCI-e part on auto. I have set it to 100mhz and didn't help.

hmmm... Get the latest drivers again, but this time download Driver Cleaner Pro (free) and use it to clean out all your nvidia drivers. (when you open it, just select the nvidia option, it will clean everything) restart then install the drivers again.
