Since the Q9450 45nm quads will not be out until March 08 would a Q6600 be just as good in performance or should I wait for the Q9450? Please note my pc is used for gaming , overclocking and working with dvd movies ( ex. I make dvd movies for people on the side , mostly weddings, home movies etc.

Honestly the E6850 is going to perform better in games then the Q6600 for quite some time. But If you really want a quad core, then the Q6600 would still be a great choice. From the benchmarks I've seen comparing the QX9650 and QX6850 (both 3.0GHz), the difference isn't that great, probably not enough to warrant waiting until March or paying a premium in price.

Like I tell everybody else, the Q6600 overclocks very well, especially if it's G0 stepping and your using a P35 or X38 board. At 3.0GHz, it performs just as well as the two processors Omega referred to above, and you can reach those speeds on stock voltage (at least mine did).
