Q8200 with GA-G31M-S2L cpu not ok

please i want some help with this here.

i have a Mobo gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L , witch in the manufactures official site says that works perfectly with intel quad-core q8200. i see that the CPU from 2.33Ghz original speed, runs on 1.40Ghz!!!!!!! In CPU-z i see that the FSB rate of the cpu is in 800Mhz and not in 1333!!!! the cores are multiplied 200X7 than 333X7 !!!!! i have tryed anything to make it work correct! please some help!!

Have you checked to make sure in the BIOS that a power saving option is not enabled? Check the BIOS settings, it could be "Intel Speed Step". A Processor can down clock itself if the tasks it does are not sufficient to run at full speed.
 
There are 3 different Q8200 chips:

M1 stepping 95w
R0 stepping 95w
M1 stepping 65w

What BIOS version are you running? The last two listed above it has listed as supported with the F10f BIOS and the first one listed with F4 BIOS file. What exact chip are you running?

You may need a BIOS change
 
i am running the M1 revision and i have updates my BIOS in F10f version and still the same. I have to say that i took the cpu from an HP Compaq dx7500 Microtower PC . Is there a possibility to be locked?
 
have you ever tried a stress program like prime95 or occt to see when at full load if your Q8200 is not reaching the expect 2,33ghz? I too have the Q8200 but when not overclocked my idle speed is not as low as 1,4ghz its like 1,6 1,8ghz if I remember well? but how ever I am at 3,33ghz and idle speed is 2,8ghz I think XD yeah I think because I just made a reformate yesterday and I dont want to re install evrything yet. and to be back at your problem, I am pretty sure that you have no issue you just checked the speed of your processor when it was at idle just to test download occt like I said but I said occt because I prefer this one, open it, dont need cpu-z open or it may make a conflict and after that just press on the right top on in green and see down at core clock if your processor go to 2,33ghz like its should. and to answer to your last question in processor world only the multiplier is locked but if you have a extreme edition form intel or a black edition from amd the multiplier is not locked
