hmm a small nuclear reactor... i could use one of those...now where to dump the depleted uranium, lol so i could get a couple 3870's x2 and run them on a say 780i with the drivers and the bridge to get crossfireX?

You can't run crossfire on a nvidia chipset, only P35 or X38, X38 runs CF at 16/16 and also supports PCIe 2.0

x38 would support say a wolfdale 45nm 3ghz duo core and 8gb of ram? along with the 2 3870 x2's
