yes.. now you can play all the games at 400+fps instead of the crappy 200 with only 2 7800GTX's.

bi mean.. it probably will cost as much as 2 mainboards.
so about $350 for the mainboard and then the 7800GTX's $600 each.
so that would be about $2750 for only grafics and mobo.
then a really fast processor, otherwise its bottleneching the system. that would be another $500.. and ofcourse the RAM, so another 300 for 2Gb.
and then were already at $3550.

not even talking about the PSU requirements and the power consumption.
i dont think much people will buy it actually.

so then you'll have about a $5000+ pc, and on todays games, you wont notice the difference if its 2 or 4 7800GTX's inside. ( i dont even think you would notice the difference between 2 6800GT/ULTRA's and 2 GTX's yet. )

so my opinion is, its a complete waste of monney at this moment.

What im wondering is where can u plug in your sound cards etc..?

probably cant, or maybe theres 1 pci slot, but i bet they will start making sound cards for PCI-E, since i remember creative saying that the X-Fi will be there last PCI based sound card.

I know this is off topic, but why would someone pay $812 for a Corsair 2GB DDR333 memory stick?

That is why onboard sound cards and NICs exist. I'm wondering what the minimum PSU is for that and why anyone would pay that much for a system that will be outdated in 6 months.

how could it be outdated it 6 months? if that person got 4x 6800GT's or 4x 7800GTX's (wow, 1GB video), and 4gb ram, how could it be outdated? most likely thats a socket 939 (if its AMD), and you could upgrade to the x2 4800+ or w/e. please explain what you mean.

When you buy a system it is essentially out dated, video card cycles tend to run between 6 months to 1 year depending on how many manufacturing problems arise. Also AMD is doing a socket shift soon.

it would but if you're the type to buy that you're the type to say 'oh this is crap now, I want oct-SLI GeForce 8800 Ultra GTs'

only do it if you have nice speakers or a headphones, my $30 logitech headset with the X-Fi is awesome! And I would go with the Xtreme Music or Platinum, dont go for the fatality, all you get is 64mb of XRAM and it costs about $280.

Regarding what cromwell said, 6 months after sli came out, alot of people dont even have it yet, so if i got a quad sli system it would last me a while, and what kind of games/apps would ever require more video card power then 4x 7800gtx's within 6 months?

ccol, thats what i have. By the way, do you have the audigy 2 or audigy 2zs? because i read in an article that its not worth upgrading to the x-fi if you have a zs. but of course, it looks like you have plenty of money so it probably wont be a problem :P

4 x Video cards.... seeing as nothing out there can touch even 2 x 7800GTX's. Thats either for rich show offs, or extreme profession video workers.

UNLESS!! By any change does anyone here have a 10 monitor set up and multitasks 10 games at once?!?!?! Please send in the photo of your set up!

I highly doubt that you have be playing more then 1 game at once, or playing a game and browsing the web at once, since there is only 1 mouse and keyboard, and i highly doubt there is a CPU powerful enough to run 10 high-end games at once.

And the 7800GTX is mainly for gamers, they have cards specially designed for CAD and video renders.
