Core 2 Duo are the best now, hands down.
Did the 805 just disappear? It is the lowest priced Intel dual core model cpu. http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=145&type=expert
Any Core 2 Duo is better then any Pentium D at stock speeds.ok so core duo is an intel product
is it different than say intel 820 dual core ?
No, it's still out there.Did the 805 just disappear?
What makes you say that? The 4200+ X2 is not only a faster model cpu it is also a better model for OCing.
I guess you haven't read the sticky on gaming and OCing cpus too well. Without ocing you would move up in large increments to avoid constantly having to rebuild or modify in order to keep fairly updated.

So your saying that he should remove his X2 3800+ from his machine, and purchase a new X2 4200+? The difference would not be noticable.
And OCing wise, he won't get much higher then he would with the X2 3800+.
The question asked there is the 4200+ X2 better then the 3800+ X2 model. If you were deciding which of the two to get for a new build then the 4200+ would have the edge. To upgrade from the 3800+ to boost performance you would want to go in a much larger increment with either the 4800+ X2 or FX60 models. The real problem is that just after going as far as you can in upgrading the present build some new model will start the process all over again. You have to jump in big leaps at times.
Ok so currently i have the amd 3800 dual core.. ect...
is the amd 4200 a better proc.
