Norton uses a lot of system resources, especially RAM.

AVG free uses much less, and is the best way out of those two options to go.

Comodo, some have bad experience with it, some don;t. have you tried Jetico and Keiro?

Avast! home edition uses much less system resources than norton and it is much better
