Question about adding RAM

My moms HD took a dump and I am going to replace it and upgrade the ram. After going to Crucials website and entering the model info it came back with a couple different options. It says I can use PC2-5300 or PC2-6400. The processor in this PC is a Celeron 585 2.16 single core with a FBS of 667 Mhz. From what I understand PC2-5300 requires 667Mhz FSB from the processor? (Which is what I'm assuming I have) PC2-6400 runs at 800 Mhz FSB? Am I thinking right? And what benefit would I have using the PC2-6400 over the 5300 with my current set up? (since my processor doesn't run at 800) It says they both are compatible and they are the same price. Please help.

Find out what existing ram is installed and get another to match. However, What operating system are you using and how much ram do you have now? The single core celeron will run slow even if you add more ram.
 
How many ram slots does it have? 4? You can get 2 more 1gb sticks of 5300 but it most likely won't run much better. I wouldn't be putting too much money into this though, would be better to find a better system.
