I was recently given an old computer with an AT style mobo. This modo has 4 slots for simm ram sticks and 1 for dimm. I’m going to put a stick of sdram into the dimm slot and I was wondering if I have to set a jumper or change something in the bios in order to use the sdramm.
not sure I just got the thing i'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with using dimm's instead of simms in an AT mobo. I'll try to get a manufacture latter if cpuz works on it. I can't find a manufacture on the mobo.
Most mobo's (in my experience) that have more than one slot option means only one slot type can be used at once. Meaning DIMM or SIMM only, not both at once. Just stick in the one stick of DIMM ram and see what happens, worst that can happen is that it won't boot up.
well i tryed it all the 128mb chips was 32mb and all 64mb chips working at 16mb so i think somthing is wrong in the bios but i'm not sure whereto look.
