Question about AVG etc..

I visited the AVG site and all I see is the Trial Version, which has duration of time before it stops working correct? Where's the free version?

Also would you guys recommend me using FireFox? And is it safe?

As for the Anti-Spyware programs, would you recommend downloading all four or would SpybotSD and AdAwareSE be good enough??

I’m getting a new computer soon and I’m just wondering how to keep it safe, and would like some input from people with experience with these programs.

AVG has a free version as well as a trial. Go to www.download.com and download AVG Free.

Firefox is much safer than IE.

Ad-Aware SE is a very good spyware program.

Download everything you just said. AVG. Firefox. Spybot. Adaware.

If you really want to be safe... you can outstretch and get a firewall, pop up/ad blocker, internet track eraser tool, and possibly even parental controls. However, those are really unneeded unless you really feel the need to.
