Question about clock speeds for CPU and ram

I recently built my computer. It has some decent parts, 3200 (64 bit) AMD processor, MSI MS-7185 mainboard, X800 GTO Powercolor GPU, and 1.5 gb of DDR 400 ram.

I did some benchmarking and such, and then downloaded CPU-Z. Now, by all means i'm no computer whiz. I can mingle my way about the programs and have the knowledge to build them, and am seemingly literate of the hardware/software.

However, with this program, it is registering my CPU Level 2 Cache as 512 kb. Now I know the FSB is 1 ghz, so is the cache divided in half and registered like that? Same with the ram: it says the frequency is 201 mhz but I know I bought both chips of ddr 400, PC 3200. Is it supposed to register like this? Also, with the ram, it is registering as single channel, I thought I had bought dual channel..DOH!

thats a 939 pin socket, so it should be compatible with dual channel.
1. change the color of the slot that one of the dimm modules are in, that should allow it to run in dual channel.
the cache on the cpu has nothing to do with the frequency, and yes, it is 512kb on the 3200 chip.
1ghz is correct for the fsb (hypertransport, htt), not the operating frequency of the chip (2ghz).
200mhz for the ram is correct as well, ddr400 = 200mhz x2 (therefore ddr = dual data rate). this works because it sends and recieves information at the beginning and at the end of each cycle.
cpu-z is correct in everything that its telling you! you just confused the fsb with the operating frequency of the chip, and the fact that DDR is actually the frequency times two.
 
it is dual channel...like he said, put the sticks in different color slots...like if 1 and 2 are green, put one in the first green slot, but the second one in the (other color) first slot. if theyre right next to each other it doesnt work as dual channel
 
all motherboards are different. if cpu-z says its not running dual channel, i would try switching the dimm module and see if cpu-z says it changed.
actually, with my motherboard its the opposite of what you said. im running both of my dimms in blue slots, next to each other, as opposed to one blue one yellow because i had the same problem, when i switched them it began running dual channel.
 
1.The FSB being 1ghz and the L2 cache being 512kb are DOMPLETLY different things, the L@ cache and FSB are different.

2.DDR400 Runs at a 200mhz speed, but bcause its DDR they say double.

3.To run dual cahnnel you must have two identicle sticks of ram. If you have 1.5GB I'm not sure how you would acomplish this. I think you might have either 3 sticks of ram, or 2 un-equal ram sticks.
