Question about computer

Is it possible to have a bad version or copy of window 7? By that I mean I have researched why my computer crashes and some of the answers would be relating to my RAM or to windows errors. Or can it be the HDD starting to fail?

I cant really be more specific on the bsod errors I get because I have been using Linux on my 2nd hard drive for two months now.

Could be hardware could be a driver. When this happens it's best to know what the last thing you did. Like install software or change hardware.

Is this a BSOD? You could try Whocrashed or Bluescreenview.

Depends if it was a pirate copy or not :p

I'd run memtest as a general diagnostic procedure.
