question about duel monitors

the motherboard and processor are duel core and 3gig intel processor. The video card im using is a Asus 7300GS with an analog and digital output. Im running off the analog and digital card for both monitors. Im not a gamer and works fine. Im also wondering is there any advantage to and if i can use the digital off the motherboard. both monitors support it. they are Samsung Synmasters 24" monitors. the idea for both monitors is mostly picture editing with adobe. the original on the analog and the digital on the other screen for editing and making comparison with what took place.

On the otherhand. the video card. Would there be any benifit to upgrading the 7300GS (256meg) to another. I don't mind spending more. Not $500 but which one would be considered a reasonable upgrade from what ive got.

Thanks

umm... i would just upgrade to something like an 8500 GT video card for like 70$ i think (in Canada), it is supposed to be designed for doing stuff like that, and allow you to play a few games at the side (spore, world of warcraft, halo, battlefield).

hope that helps

i've never seen monitors that duel, but that sounds dangerous. hehe, anyway photoshop will take advantage of the GPU on your cards. but depending on the size format you are working with and the amount of processing and layers you're using... it's hard to tell whether it could benefit you to upgrade. i think GPU performance starts to become noticeable when you get into really large prints, like poster size. a 7300 does seem a little outdated, if you don't mind spending the money give yourself a $100-$150 limit and get a 9800 or something with lots of Vram.

This also depends on what version of Photoshop you are using. CS4 has upgraded GPU support. And +1 on the 9800GT. A 9800GT or 4830 should be sufficient.
