I have a xfx hd6770

it says on the box i can connect up to 6 displays

atm i have 2, a 22inch moniter connected to the dvi port
a 42inch hdtv connected to the hdmi port

i can't understand how i can connect 6 displays

it would be useful i i could use a third screen on the back of the card is 1 dvi 1 hdmi and 1 vga

is it possible to connect the 3rd screen onto the vga i read somewhere i could not becuase the hdmi and dvi share bandwidth or something

i don't want to go buy a moniter if i can't connected it to the vga port

so tldr

i have a xfx hd6770 with 1 dvi 1 hdmi and 1 vga port it has no other connection i have a moniter connected to the dvi and a hdtv connected to the hdmi is there a way i can connect another/moniter/screen to this card

thanks

Yup. That's all you have to do.

If it doesn't come up immediately, then you just need to force detect monitors, then arrange them in the layout of your choosing.

wow thanks alot m8 when i asked my m8's they told me it would not work because of shared bandwidth or something i'll give it a go

i tried it and it never worked when i plugged in the 3rd display in the vga the hdmi tv lost the signal and only the dvi displayed showed anything

however i turned on my onboard gfx card and plugged the 3rd moniter and it worked fine

i not played with the settings or anything but i could use all3 just fine will doing this cause any problems

is there a programme i could get to control this as i can only see the hd6770 in display properties but its in the device manager

thanks again

my computer seems to be using the onboard b4 the hd6770 as the game i'm playing is very slow i'm usingt 4 clients of teh game when i did this on 2 displays with just the 6770 it run super smoth but now its running really slow and i'm hardly using any of the 6770 gpu about 27% is ther wnayway to tell the computer to use the hd6770 first

it would be so much easier if i could just run them all off the 6770 its suppose to support 5 screens i can't understand why it won't run 3

how would i go about doing that is it as simple as plugging the the extra moniter to the vga port

No would need a active adapter to display the 3rd monitor. Your friend was kinda right. The problem is Dual link. You can hook up 2 displays to the card no problem but higher than that you need another active adapter. The problem with the 6770 is that in order to use the active adapter you need a mini display port. You card has DVI HDMI VGA. You can not run 3 monitors with that card. If you had a 2nd 6770 you could add a 3rd monitor to the DVI or HDMI on the 2nd card.

is there anyway to sort out the problems with using the onboard as well i don't understand why its running so crap is there a way to tell the computer to use the 6770 to run the 2 and the onboard to run the 3rd so itrs not running so crap

i really can't afford another card as i would need a new motherboard aswell it would be ebtter to just buy another video card but i can't afford that either

if i bought this card could i use the 3 screens http://www.ebuyer.com/248745-powercolor-hd-6870-1gb-gddr5-dual-dvi-hdmi-dual-mini-displayport-pci-e-ax6870-1gbd5-2dh

if i did would i need a dvi to vga adapter or a display port to vga as one of my moniters only has a vga port

i would have to wait a while till i had the money so its not really an option

I am not sure if you can use the onboard to display the 3rd monitor. I know for certain that it will not combine in an eyefinity display group. (not sure if that is what you were after) you can try it. Let me know what happens.

well what i done was remove the fps cap
and now it runs just like b4 super smooth

i have 2 plugged into the radeon 1 in dvi 1 in hdmi

and the 3rd is plugged in the onboard

its running perfectly the only thing is my gpu is at 68c is that a problem ?
