question about mp3s

I rip cds to my computer at 192kbps. I downloaded a cd I already own and already have ripped to my computer and compared it to my self ripped cd. I looked at them both in auacity and noticed subtle differences. They are both ripped at 192kbps. I also noticed that several songs on the cd are one second longer than my version. Is this because of our differences in diskdrives encoders or mp3 player software? If so, what software is the best?

i think that might be to do with the program, some programs leave an audible gap between songs, so you can tell when it changes, and some dont leave any gaps so the songs "merge". iTunes does the latter, though it can be turned off.
