Question about multiple monitors

I recently purchased a dell inspiron slim desktop with an ATI radeon 2400 hd pro graphics card. I want to hook up two monitors but am having problems. The graphics card is compatible with two monitors but only has one dvi input. I bought a dvi splitter to plug both monitors in but it is not working any suggestions?

Also if any of you know anything about these slim desktops, the pci slots are smaller and I cant find a wireless card that fits it.
 
Have you activated the multi monitor options in the display settings, and made a primary and secondary monitor extending the desktop.

1. Right click desktop and select properties.
2. Choose settings tab.

Have a look there and see if that helps.

Also depending on the use you might only want the main monitor using the new graphics card and the other using the normal input, then you wont have to use the splitter. (i run only 2 of my 3 monitors in the graphics card)

ya this is the problem, for some reason it wont let me run one monitor through the graphics card and the other through vga (maybe im doing something wrong?)
