Question about Netbooks/Tablet PC

What ever their called. Two major questions.

(I realize there is no cd drive)

- Then what type of virus protection does it carry. How does it get updated. What if you wanted to install your own virus protection, since Im a subscriber to virus protection.
- What if it crashes

If it has usb input, can you install photos, videos, software, etc from an external drive?

Netbooks are the minilaptops, tablets are the ones that you can flip the monitor around and usually have touch screens (correct me if I'm wrong).

1. Virus protection depends on the operating system and whatever preinstalled crap is on there. If it comes with linux you don't have to worry about it. If it comes with Windows I recommend downloading AVG which you can set to update and scan automatically.

2. If it crashes (heaven forbid) you follow the same steps as you would any other PC, but it's complicated from the lack of CD drive. My EEE shipped with a dvd that would make a flash drive into a recovery CD, which came in handy. My Dell came with a CD that I had to put into an external CD drive (which I suggest getting if this is going to be used often).

I don't know of a single Netbook on the market that doesn't have USB. And of course, I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be able to take music/pictures/etc from an external drive.

Hope that helps
