Question about "no display"

I have recently upgraded from a 1080p montor to a 4k one. Immediately i noticed when i switched it over the motherboard beeps when it posts. I get the ok single post beep and then two beeps i have switched display ports on the GPU and it seems to give a sort of like half quick beep and another beep now.

Sometimes however it will just give me the post beep and then load up onto the screen. Everything on the monitor and pc works fine its just i have a hdmi connected for freeview box as i watch tv on a night time and display port for my pc. If i say boot my pc in the morning it gives me the post beeps and then the beeps after.

It then loads the bios screen and then the windows logo with scroll wheel (windows 8.1) then it just goes black and gives me a no display screen. At which i have to reset the pc and try again it will then load as normal onto the start screen or it again will still not show up. At which i have to keep trying twice or three times to get it to display the windows start screen and log into windows.

i did not have the problem with the old 1080p monitor which had 2x hdmi plugged in again one for my pc and one for freeview.

If i put the pc to sleep it loads as normal it just seems to give me these problems on first boot. Everything works as normal on the pc and i dont have any problems with it other than this.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what this problem could be, ive tried swapping ports on the gpu, removing hdmi and it still gives this problem on first boot.

tl;dr
sometimes he loses video signal and has to restart his computer.

try running it without the second display , ive had trouble with that personally on my setup with dual 780ti's and also with a single 970. same issue.
