I have pc6400 800mhz

in amd overdrive in system specs, it says

TYPE-DDR2 SDRAM

and Channel-Single.

why is it running at single if its dual channel ram

On a Phenom using a AMD 700 series chipset theres a setting in your Bios for the memory called Ganged or Unganged. When set to Ganged the 2 memory controllers act together and will show up as Dual Channel. If it set to Unganged the memory controllers act independent as 2 64bit controllers and show up as Single channel. I,ve saw reviews where the performance is about 50/50 so try both and what ever turns out faster for you use that one.

See I havn't flashed my bios yet. i was going to see what you guys said before i decided, but i guess ill have to flash my bios. i was reading stuff and they said they flashed the bios to fix the ganges problem. but everything else was running perfect so i didnt wnat to flash it.

but i guess i will. ill let you guys know how it goes.

alright i tried disabling unganged but in my amd overdrive its still saying Single for ram channel. so idk what that means, should i flash the bios?

Just go into the bios and set it to Ganged mode and see if it shows as dual channel before updating it.
Edit: Just saw where you said you disabled unganged, try another program like CPUID to see if it says Single or Dual
