question about routers

Well I just installed a new wireless card because my old wireless adapter was not working too well anymore, now my DLink wireless router 2310 will stop working a few times a day and I have to unplug it and plug it back in.

What is causing this? Should I get a new router? My router is 108 megs and my card is only 54...is that a problem??

Reset your router, if that doesn't work then its probably gone bad.

Troubleshoot

To troubleshoot this issue I would plug into the DLINK with a network cable for 1 day and see if you still lose conection. If you don't, then it is going to be a wireless issue. if you still lose connection even when plugged in, then the router has an issue, and a replacement might be the best option.

there is no issue with the 104 mbps and 52 mbps this does not matter, along with this, if your product is out of warranty, and your feeling adventurous, i would reccommend digging out them screwdrivers, taking the thing apart, on the main board inside, there will be either a serial or ethernet port, using a cable, plug this into the serial port on your computer, then access the program hyperterminal start> all programs > accessories > hyper terminal ( it my be in communications )

from here, reset your router, and watch its activities till it restarts; if you copy and paste the error into here, i will be able to tell you what is the issue.
