Hey guys quick one.
When re-applying thermal paste it can be a bit tricky to get my beastly large noctua nh-c14 cooler. Because of this it's difficult to land it perfectly on the cpu after putting thermal paste down, which usually means theres some fumbling contact between the two before I can actually get it seated properly and locked down.
My question is, would this cause issues or effect temps? I know that generally the heatsink spreads the compound out over the cpu when you place it down but if it touches the thermal grease a bit then gets readjusted quickly and reseated properly would that cause issues in temps?
I try my best to get it down the first time but god is it hard. Also I'm seeing that my core temps can vary about 5 degrees. I've read this is normal but is there anything that can be done? My last thermal job looked pretty good when I took it off again so it wouldn't have been uneven distribution. Just wondering
(PS. Running p95 atm and hitting about 60C @4.3GHz. specs in sig. good? bad?)
(PSS. I have a thread in the networking section that is unanswered as of yet. hint hint ;D )
