I am considering buying this chip very soon: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor.

I saw this review today on Newegg.com and had 3 simple questions Pros: Just got mine today and received the G0 Step. If the PROD CODE ends in SLACR you have a G0 Step if the PROD CODE ends in SL9UM you got a B3. You can find the PROD CODE on the box and on the SLACR & SL9UM code is on the chip Good price and like the speed increase. I'll try to OC it soon

What is a Go Step and why does everyone seem to want it?
This reviewer seems to imply that only with the proper promo code you can get one...how do I get one?
Can I get a better chip for the price ($285.00)?

G0 stepping is basically a new revision ove rthe old B3 stepping. It draws less power and runs cooling, thus allowing the user to overclock it more.
