Question about VGA & DVI

I had VGA and DVI plugged but I when I played with the settings I realized that it was VGA that was working. I set it to DVI and rebooted... I hear DVI is better then VGA except now the writing is kinda blurry compared to VGA.

Is this normal?

Did the resolution change at all when you switched cables. Otherwise that shouldn't have happened. DVI is better than VGA but sometimes some monitors you really can't see a difference but it depends on the monitor.

AH! Thanks Jack.. I had no clue the resolution would change.

It went from 1680x1050 to 12XX :D

Thanks again.

-_-, What I'm saying is if your monitor have a VGA connector and you use a DVI-VGA adapter to connect it up to a DVI port, then you will not see the benefits of DVI on your VGA monitor.

I think we all know that. But sometimes if all your videocard has is DVI connectors you will need one of those adapters so some people don't have a choice.
