hey is there really that much of a differnece betwen the dd2 n the dd3? like life altering differneces ,, could i still play all the same games at good speeds and all that jazz??
No there is not that much difference, but Intel already has and AMDs next socket is going to have DDR3. So its slowly heading that way. Same thing as like when it went from Standard SDRAM to DDR to DDR2. But DDR2 is pretty much the standard right now.
Besides memory alone you also have to look at which cpu you end up going with. If I was looking at a new build right now DDR3 would be the thought along with PCI-2.0 for the latest out according to the budget planned in order to be somewhat upto date in a few years.
The present games out however still run on DDR as well as DDR2 systems in many cases as far as memory goes. A large gap in cpu clock speed like moving up from 2.2ghz to 3ghz saw more difference with other types of softwares and Windows in general over any most games. A lot there has more to do with a good card and the amount of ram available over memory speed tp quel background items like system processes running.
