Question involving multiple HDD

Well I have a new larger faster hdd, but my OS boots off my old drive and until now I didn't have the new drive set up. Is there anything special I need to know in order to launch programs from a second drive? I don't mean raid setup, but simply placing games there so that they load more quickly. Do I need something like program files there? I'm guessing I need to register that the games are now meant to boot from G: instead of C:.

Or is it possible to just clone one drive into another, OS included and use that as my boot drive now? Without making win7 freak out and lock on me

Yes, you can clone your old drive to your new one. What brand drive is the new one? Western digital, Seagate, Samsung?

Download their version of acronis true image. You will be able to clone your old drive to the new one and then just boot to the new one. delete the data off the old one once you know everything works and use it for extra storage.
