Question!! Ocz 500w + 8600gts

Like them pretty good, used them in some other builds and I have a extra black one too. The Black ones are cool but finger prints and dust show up more.

Yes. As for the StealthXStream 500W vs 600W, that's an interesting one. The 500W is a new unit, and I've yet to see any reviews or internal shots. From what little I can see, I'd wager an educated guess that these are rebadged FSP Blue Storm IIs (that really is a guess, though, I certainly can't say for sure). That would be a definitive bonus, as the Blue Storm II has much better DC output quality than the Epsilon platform used for the StealthXStream 600W, and is, IMO, a better quality unit.

I still feel that there are better units for $75, including the Corsair VX550 and Enhance 5150GH, but the StealthXStream 500W will be more than sufficient either way, and a good quality unit if it's a rebadged Blue Storm II.

I guess that one came out of my ... . I'm fairly sure it was accurate when I wrote it, and I believe it still is, although any updates/corrections are welcome.

That list is very useful. It is simply pointing out the true manufacturers of some of the "branded" PSU's. Ceewi1 recommends Rosewill, and that list does not identify Rosewill as being "garbage."

Youngyear are pretty terrible, but Deer and Leadman are far worse. Solytech are generally poor as well, with only a few mediocre exceptions. Wintech are reliably mediocre (although often well priced). ATNG are all over the place, but from what I've seen the ATNG built Rosewills are all very good. This is a large part of why the RP500-2 was included in my list of recommendations: http://www.jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=48. That's pretty good performance for a $50 PSU, although obviously if you're willing to spend a bit more money there are flat out better 500W units.

I do want to make it clear that that recommendation doesn't translate to all Rosewill units - the RPs and RXs are the only ones I'd recommend at all as decent quality, budget focused units capable of putting out a lot of power for the money. If it's Youngyear, Leadman, Deer or Powmax (some Rosewill cases include Powmax PSUs), avoid it like the plague!

OK...I see your point. Depending on the manufacturer, it is possible that you may receive a bad Rosewill PSU. Right?

Depends on which series/unit you buy. You need to be really careful with Rosewill or you can get some really junky units.

Rowesill isn't all garbage. They make pretty good budget powersuuplies. Just stick to the ones with a couple hundred 5 egg reviews on newegg and it'll be a good unit.

I would caution people to be a bit careful about newegg reviews, particularly with PSUs. They're often written a few days after purchase (so no long term testing), and by people without a system capable of adequately testing the PSU, or the knowledge/equipment to analyse how it's performing. Best to look to professional reviews, IMO.

Yes I agree, but I was thinking that if a few hundred people have given it legit review, and without many coming back and giving it a "it died on me 4 months after", it should be fine. But of course a professional review would be the best, but sometimes it's hard to find reviews on budget items.
