Question on monitors

Hey people.
I'll be buying a lcd monitor now thinking around 22 inch possibly 23.

So for example I'm comparing these two:
- 23,6 Inch Monitor
- 1920 x 1080 resolution
- 2ms response time
- 40 000:1 i contrast

-----------------------------------------
23-inch Widescreen
- 1920x1080 resolution
- 50 000:1 contrast
- 2ms response time

So basically, is there any way to tell if a screen is widescreen except if it says so? Both have the same resolution, is it the format that decides if it's widescreen?

I could use some tips, so far I've decided to go for a screen with full hd resolution, wide screen, 2-5ms response time and around 50 000 contrast. Am I missing something important?

Thanks

I'm guessing those are Dynamic Contrast Ratios, since they're so high. Dynamic isn't the real ratio. It's just a gimmick to make it look better.
the 50,000:1 would actually be like 3,000:1. So keep that in mind.
Does it say anywhere about it being 16:9 display? If it is, then it's a widescreen. I believe that there isn't many monitors out that aren't widescreen since they're so greatly popular.

I see

I found this:
23 inch - 16:9 (widescreen)
1920x1080
5ms
1000:1 static

at a good price so I'll buy this. Judging from the variables it seems like a great monitor at a great price.

Well keep on poking around. There is a lot of back to school sales that are going on at this time.. I know whenever I buy something, usually something better comes out that's cheaper than I bought it the next day :( lol
