Question on ram

ASUS P8P67-M Motherboard B3 is the board I want to get.
G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL (2x4GB) DDR3 is the ram I want to get.

On the ram description it says
"Designed specifically for use with the Intel P67 chipset and Socket LGA1155 processors."

Now is the p67 wording in my motherboard what it is reffering too?
If so, would that be a good choice for ram?
Going with i5 2500 cpu.
 
It's just advertising. My RAM is advertised as "Specially designed and optimised for Intel i5 systems!" Which just means it has XMP, which sets up the RAM speed, timings and voltage for you, rather than doing them manually. It won't work any faster than if you set them up manually, and it also hinders overclocking at times. It also works perfectly fine in my Athlon II system.

Umm...XMP works well for those who do not know everything about memory timings and latencies. IF you let the motherboard do the automatic detection, then thats fine, but with XMP, the settings are dialed in and will result in a slight performance increase as well.

The reason it can hinder Over Clocking sometimes is because the timings it sets are a little more aggressive than stock. So if you increase your FSB to OC the CPU, it makes the ram run faster, and can cause the ram to fail due to the tight timings and too fast of an operating speed.

Its not like theres much of a premium anyways, usually its the same price. So just a nice bonus. :)
 
ASUS P8P67-M

the 67 is chipset type that intel's new 2nd generation sandy bridge use and all the mother board has in their name.

the P is also type of one of two chipset (other is H series which has onboard graphic card) and these motherboards doesn't have onboard graphic card.
