Question regarding Desktops

Hey guy I found this forum through a google search

Two things guys:

1) I'm in desperate need of a new computer but I don't really want to go through the hassle of building one myself. I'm wondering if theres a difference between simply ordering a Dell desktop versus building one yourself.

2) Can you guys sort of build a gaming desktop for me? with a list of tech specs. My budget is around $1500-2000

There is effectively a difference between buying one premade and building one yourself. Aside from the knowledge you gain, there is the quality of the parts which is better when you build it yourself. There is of course the adaptability to your very needs and finally it is also cheaper when the build is not a very cheap one.

As for us building a 1500-2000$ desktop, it would be required to know what you need (case, monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc.).

I leave building the rig to the experts like usual because I really don't feel like searching for parts lolll.

But yeah theres a difference in building a system yourself then buying one pre-built.

Pre built systems cost more for a better rig, building it yourself puts all the parts you want in the pc for your needs and comes out cheaper so I would say build it yourself.

Building your own rig isn't a hassle? It's so fun when it all comes together and works great and makes you feel good

I remember when I built my pc, though not that good of a pc still made me feel all happy because I built it on my own and it's now my favorite thing in the world.

Check this build, you can change the psu to a less expensive model if you want to, i suggested this one because is more future proof, not sure if you need monitor or keyboard/mouse or os (i included it if you have one just remove it )

I'm seeing that you guys are recommending the Core 2 Duo, I'm looking at the Quad Core, is there a noticeable difference between the 2?

The new model of the core 2 duo should beat the QX6700 and get somewhere around the QX6800 in performance terms, and there isn't a program that uses the 4 cores yet and there will be 1333 FSB quad models soon so there isn't point in getting a quad atm if in like 6 months new models will be coming out.

Not much but the Core 2 Duo E6850 should be more than enough for a reasonable price for what you need.
