Just got my laptop and I was wanting to setup the email outlook express but there asking for a product key. They said it can be found on box, or cd-rom, or a certain sticker. I can't find it anywere, does anyone know were it could be?
 
Found it typed it in and it said it was wrong, so I called ASUS and the guy told me I have to get microsft and get the key? And also that will only be a 60 day trial? Is that correct? I thought the outlook email was standard to have on it, it was with my desktop.

Microsoft Outlook is a part of MS Office, and you have to pay for it. XP came with Outlook Express, which is a free, stripped-down version of MS Outlook... I'm not sure about Vista, though. I use Windows Live Mail myself (I think it replaced Outlook Express on Vista?)

Correct on Vista its called Windows Mail and did indeed replace Outlook Express on Vista

Is the Windows Mail better then outlook? Or is it really the same thing? I'm trying to set up a email and don't know what to do now lol

Windows mail is just the vista version of old outlook..

It has all the same crap...calendar..etc..

I use it for my home/business mail and its good for me.

It looks and feels different, but basically it's the same thing and does pretty much everything Outlook Express does, and in addition has a translucent splash screen.
