i bought a new computer and it has a dual layer dvd burner my question is if u can burn music on a blank dvd or are blank dvd's just burn movies and i need blank cd's. Also how do i burn somethin on two layers would it be a special kind of DVD

Im sure you can burn tracks to a DVD in the format of an audio CD but wheter or not CD players would read it is another question. As for dual layer burning, yes you will need to buy dual layer discs, these are faily expensive though.

You can fit up to 8.5Gb of data onto a DVD-dual layer and only 4.7Gb onto a single layer DVD.

yeah you a burn a MP3 or WMA DVD , and play it in your computer or some dvd players but not cd players, and you can only fit 4.3gb of data on a 4.7gb disk , and prolly 8gb on a dual layer disc, and a pack of three dual layer disc cost 20 bucks , and the only company i know of that makes these is verbatim

I know of two companies. One is verbatim but they are not too reliable, another is Imation, they are a bit better but still not too good. A good brand to go with would be sony or another leader but unfortunately they are yet to jump on the band wagon. Take a look here for the imation ones:

*EDIT* Above link doesnt want to work for some strange reason. Just go to ebuyer.com and search for dual layer or double layer.

Audio DVDs are something special, there are dvd's coming out so you can do what you're talking about, but you would need to encode it in AC3 to guarantee it to work
