If RAM goes bad is there a change that it will make the CPU go full load all the time??

-I think it would but, I want other responses.

Thank you.

Well it depends on what kind of "bad" you are talking about. But if it is losing usable memory, then yes, there would be more load on the CPU.

Heres the thing I bought a new PSU and plugged it in... well i heard something frying but... dont know what it was and im on it right now computer still works, proccessor still reads correctly.. like its speed and stuff... and windows says thier the correct amount of ram..

So.. any suggestions?

I found out my processor is running at .6volts and its suppose to be 1.35v but, im afraid to put it up...

May fry or something lol.

Your system wouldn't boot if the CPU was at 0.6V. It must be a bad reading. Are your other voltages stable?

well i heard something frying
I'm a little unsure as to what you mean by 'heard something frying'.

proccessor still reads correctly.. like its speed and stuff... and windows says thier the correct amount of ram..
Do you suspect there's a problem somewhere? Is your system running unusually slowly, or failing to boot?

Uhh

Yes, I bought a new PSU and installed it when I turned my computer on. Well, when I turned it on something fried...(I heard it and smelled it). But, it still runs after i put my old PSU back into it. But, now my CPU reads at .6 volts and idle is 97% no matter what..

It wont let me put the voltage up for some reason.. So maybe i fried something in my motherboard???

Before something fried my processor never went passed 7% load unless running like 4 games at the same time then it would go up to about 80-90..

How are you reading the voltage? The processor cannot run at .6V

A utility that came with motherboard and a utility from AMD.

All reported that the processor was running at .6v..
What I don't get it is still running.. But, cant multitask at all anymore.

Software voltage monitors are famous for being inaccurate.

So, the new PSU fried and you want to know if it took anything else with it? What was the reason for the new PSU to begin with?

As B182tm said, run memtest86+ to check your memory. I'm pretty sure that faulty memory won't cause you processor to run at a higher percentage in Win... the cause of that is usually software-related.

No, My PSU didn't fry something along my motherboard did. Not the PSU.. I got the new PSU because I needed more power for my raid and video card.

Something fried along the motherboard somewhere I believe it was between RAM and Processor because thats where it smells funny at.

BTW, the computer still works but multitasking sucks now and cpu load stays high.

...

You bought a new PSU for RAID and video card upgrade? Did you install the video card at the same time as the new PSU?

So far, I'm of the opinion that the PSU is toast (perhaps literally). If you smell damage on the motherboard, then there's a pretty decent chance the motherboard is damaged as well. If you can visually identify damage, then that would be a definate thing and it's time for a new motherboard.

This problem gets more and more complex with each post... what else have you updated recently?

PSU didn't fry I know that for a fact.. As far as seeing the damage I dont see any.. I know something fried cause I heard it and smelled it.. Maybe.. I pulled the plug before it was completely fried because my computer still works but my cpu load is very high now. and cant mulitask all that good.

well i heard something frying but... dont know what it was and im on it right now computer still works
Then how do you know there was frying?

I found out my processor is running at .6volts and its suppose to be 1.35v but, im afraid to put it up...
You sure that's vCore and not somehting else?

Before something fried my processor never went passed 7% load unless running like 4 games at the same time then it would go up to about 80-90..
Well.. obvious question, what process is using up all that processing power?

No, My PSU didn't fry something along my motherboard did. Not the PSU.. I got the new PSU because I needed more power for my raid and video card.
What PSUs are we dealing with here?

Maybe.. I pulled the plug before it was completely fried because my computer still works but my cpu load is very high now. and cant mulitask all that good.
Well unless you're physical reaction time is in the <20ms range, you're not gonna save your mobo from a dying PSU

Like seriously.. if you read all my posts that is what really happened and his that is the core voltage that is at .6v...

AND I know something fried because I smelt it and heard it. (Not PSU)

The PSU is 600watt from Aspire.

Update!!--

I fired my PCI Slots and my second LAN controller.

My load is caused by my video drivers. (Without them I idle at 4%, 40% gaming and multitasking in one.)

Guess I'm just going to have to wait for a better video drive that doesn't own my CPU.
