Question?

I am panning on buying a dell.

I dont know if its a good idea to upgrade a Pentium D 2.8 GHz to a 3.0 GHz for $100 more or just upgrade the ram from a 1 GiG to a 2 GiG for $160.
Or should i just keep it and not upgrade eigther?

Please help.

Thanks

I would upgrade to the 3.0Ghz CPU, since you can add another GB of ram later. And when/if you do, buy it from newegg for around $80.

personally i'd build my own.
haha, but yea RAM will probably do you better...

again what are you using it for?
RAM will most likely make it perform better in games, but once you pick a cpu you cant decide to get another 200Mhz for $100. So as i said before, i woul upgrade to a 3.0Ghz and then just buy another GB from newegg for $70.

Yeah, that is the best option.

I just brought a dell. I payed to have the cpu upgraded to 3.0ghz and stuck with 1gb of Ram. My machine runs verry well considering it has a shite video card so i guess it 6 to 1 half a dozen to the other (either way the machine will perform pretty well)

Im using it to play games mostly.
you can assume that most dell computers are not meant to play games...
at least high graphic games,
because dell computers usually give you an integrated video cards, right?
unless you are getting quod sli dell for $20000, lol

since you are on this forum, why don't you learn how to build your own computer?
its easy, save your money some times, and may be you can get just what you need,

exactly. How much are you spending on it? what are the specs? You might be getting ripped off...
